Superb facilities, simple pleasures - all set in serene, forested surroundings

Electric Bike Hire from Skelwith Fold for your Lake District adventure

The Electric Bicycle Network at Skelwith Fold Caravan Park offers you a brand new way to explore the surrounding area without your car or motorhome having to leave the site. Hire an electric bike to do the hard work for you, leaving you free to enjoy the simple pleasure of cycling in the great outdoors.

Electric bikes give you a boost as you pedal yet they look and ride like a normal bike. Hills seem to disappear as though they’re barely there. Electric bikes make you feel like you’re 21 again!

£25.00 per day (10am – 5pm)

How is it different to riding a normal bike?

Riding an electric bicycle is just like riding any other bicycle – you have to pedal and you have a range of gears to use. However, at any point you can choose to switch on the electric power and select one of three settings (Eco, Normal or Sport). Each of these gives a different level of ‘boost’ to help you ride up the hills with relative ease and no sweat. Be warned – it is a very addictive feeling!

Where can I ride with an electric bicycle?

Whilst the bicycles are very robust, they are not designed to be used as mountain bikes and you shouldn’t go off-road, on rocky tracks or through water. However we have researched some interesting routes for you to explore the area in a series of suggested half-day or full day rides.

How long does the battery last?

It will very much depend on what setting you select, how much climbing you do, your weight etc. The range for a single battery is between 20-50 miles.

What happens if the battery starts getting low?

If your battery is getting low you can go into one of the charge points that are marked on the route maps.

What happens if I break down?

If you have a puncture, or your bike breaks down you will need to call an emergency phone number to arrange to be picked up.
