As you turn through the gates into our caravan park in the Lake District you’ll know you’ve made a good decision. Follow the red road which gentle winds up to our park reception. It’s canopied by tall trees and bordered by ancient woodland. You’ll likely catch a glimpse of our resident wildlife, such as roe deer, woodpeckers, and if you’re lucky, even a red squirrel.
For many years the grounds of Skelwith encircled one of Cumbria’s finest houses and access was limited to the privileged few, many of whom are well-known names such as Marshal, Wordsworth and Schwitters to name but a few. Today this magical woodland with its labyrinth of paths and woodland glades is available for us all to use at our campsite in the Lake District alongside the birds, squirrels, deer and other fascinating creatures.
Situated just 1.5 miles from Ambleside, we are truly located in the heart of the Lakes. There is no shortage of things to do in the area. We are within easy access to popular places to visit such as Windermere, Coniston and Grizedale Forest.
