Now located at Backbarrow, the Lakeland Motor Museum houses a collection of 30000 exhibits. These include classic cars, motorbikes, bicycles, pedal cars and other motoring related items.

There is a special exhibition dedicated to the land and water speed record activities of Sir Malcolm Campbell and his son Donald who between them captured 21 world land and water speed records for Great Britain, in the Bluebird series of cars and boats. They used the lakes in the Lake District to test their speed boats on.
Highlights include full sized replicas of the 1935 Blue Bird car, 1939 Blue Bird Boat K4 and 1967 jet hydroplane Bluebird K7.
